New key fob, replacement remote or spare — programmed at your car
I program key fobs, remote keys and transponder (chip) keys on-site for most makes and models, older cars included — whether you need a spare fob, a replacement, or a key programmed to your car.
North American, Japanese and Korean vehicles, plus Jaguar and Land Rover. Not German makes or Volvo — ask and I’ll tell you yes or no before you wait.
How it works
What to bring
Before any work, I always check your vehicle registration and a matching photo ID. It's a standard part of how I work — to confirm the vehicle is yours and keep everything above board.
Up-front pricing on every job.
The price depends on your vehicle and the type of fob or key — you always get it before any work, and pay only once it works. I accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Interac e-Transfer or cash, paid right at your car. Every price includes the fob and its programming — no hidden extras.
Fobs and remotes from $160, smart (push-to-start) from $170 · 1-year warranty on my work · No call-out fee — you pay only for the result.
“I lost 2 fobs . Able to get me 2 new fobs . Very friendly, fast service and reasonable price. Very happy with service highly recommend”
— Chris Taing
Not sure what you need? Text or WhatsApp a photo of your key or fob for an exact quote — I usually reply within a few minutes between 8 AM and 9 PM; messages sent overnight get an answer from 8 AM.
Where I serve
All of Winnipeg and the surrounding region — including Selkirk, Lockport, St. Andrews, West St. Paul, Headingley, Stony Mountain, Stonewall, Oakbank and Niverville. Other towns I drive out to include East St. Paul, Oak Bluff and Île-des-Chênes. There is no trip fee in Winnipeg; for towns outside the city a travel fee is folded into the all-in price I quote up front, so there are no surprises when I arrive. Open 8 AM–9 PM, 7 days a week.
Bought a key fob online? I can program it.
Picked up a cheaper fob or remote online and found it does not work? An aftermarket or used fob still has to be programmed to your car before it will lock, unlock or start it. I program fobs and remotes you have already bought, on-site, for most makes and models, older cars included — bring the new fob and I will pair it to your vehicle. If a fob turns out to be the wrong type or faulty, I will tell you up front before any work.
Thinking of buying a fob on Amazon or eBay? Send me the listing on WhatsApp BEFORE you buy — I’ll tell you for free whether it will work with your vehicle. Programming a fob you supply is quoted up front — you get the exact number before I drive out. Why I ask for a photo & VIN →
When you bring your own fob, I check its origin and specs before I drive out, so I know it will work with your car. One thing to note: my one-year warranty covers my programming and cutting work — it can’t cover a part you supplied yourself, so buy from a source you trust.

Frequently asked questions
- Do you come to me to program a fob?
- Yes. I program fobs, remotes and transponder keys on-site anywhere in Winnipeg and the surrounding area, so there is no dealership trip.
- Can you program a fob I bought online?
- Often, yes, if it is the correct part for your vehicle — but a wrong or incompatible fob cannot always be programmed. Tell me your year, make and model and what you have, and I will confirm before any work. Better yet, send me the listing on WhatsApp before you buy — I’ll check it against your vehicle for free.
- Do you supply replacement key fobs, or only program mine?
- Both. A fob or remote I supply and program at your car is from $160 all-in, taxes included; smart and push-to-start fobs are from $170.
- Do you do transponder (chip) keys?
- Yes. I cut and program transponder (chip) keys on-site for most vehicles, older cars included.
- What do I need to provide for fob programming?
- The vehicle registration and a photo ID that matches it — and the fob itself, if you bought one elsewhere. I check the documents before I program anything, so I know the vehicle is yours.
- How long does key fob programming take?
- About 20 to 50 minutes at the car for a regular fob or remote, 30 to 60 for a smart or push-to-start fob. That is time at the car, not arrival time.
- Is it cheaper than going to the dealership?
- My price is all-in from $160, taxes included, and I do the work where the car sits: no tow, no waiting on a parts order.
- Do you program key fobs outside Winnipeg?
- Yes, in the towns around Winnipeg. Outside the city a distance-based travel fee is part of the all-in price I give you before I set out.
- How much does fob replacement and programming cost?
- Fob or remote programming starts from $160, and a smart (push-to-start) fob from $170 — all-in, taxes included. The exact number depends on the part your car takes, and you always get it up front before any work. You pay only once it works.
