Keys for your lot or fleet, on-site
On a used car lot or in a fleet, a missing or single key means a car you cannot list or a van that cannot go out. I cut and program keys, fobs and transponder (chip) keys right where your vehicles are parked, for most makes and models.
A business pays the same prices my private customers do: a spare, chip key or fob from $160, a smart (push-to-start) key from $170, and all keys lost from $200, taxes in. You pay only once the key works, and you deal with me, Andy, not a call centre.
North American, Japanese and Korean vehicles, plus Jaguar and Land Rover. Not German makes or Volvo — ask and I’ll tell you yes or no before you wait.
What I make on-site
- Spare & second keys — for every unit, cut and programmed on the spot.
- Key fobs, remotes & transponder (chip) keys — programmed to each vehicle; chip keys for cars 2000 and newer.
- All keys lost — a new key for a vehicle with no working key, from $200.
- Lockouts — keys locked inside a van or truck, from $150.
- Covered twice — No Fix = No Pay on every vehicle, and a 1-year warranty on my workmanship for every key.
Why dealers and fleets use a mobile locksmith
Sending each vehicle to a dealership for a key means towing or driving it there, booking an appointment and waiting for a part — time your lot or fleet does not have. A mobile auto locksmith keys the vehicle where it sits and usually costs less than the dealer.
Used car lots: a second key before the sale
Trade-ins and auction buys often reach the lot with one key, sometimes with none. A buyer handed a single key knows a spare is the next thing to pay for, and a car with no key cannot be test-driven. Send me the list before the units are listed and I’ll tell you how many I can key in one visit. The second key for the same car at the same visit is half price: $160 plus $80, or $240 for the pair.
Fleets: when a van or truck loses its only key
Fleet keys travel between drivers, shifts and job sites, and the one that goes missing is often the only key that unit had. I make a new one where the vehicle is parked, from $200, with no tow. The cheaper fix is a spare for every unit while a working key is still in hand, from $160 each — send me each vehicle’s year, make and model and I’ll tell you the total before I come out.
Auction cars and vehicles from other provinces
A car bought at auction or brought in from another province often shows up with one key or none. Yes, I do these: send me the VIN first and I’ll tell you before I come out whether I can make a key for it and what it costs — from $200 with no key, from $160 with one. If the car is not registered to the business yet, I check the bill of sale. More on auction and out-of-province cars with no key.
How quoting works for a business
Every vehicle gets its own price from my price list, the same one a private customer sees, and you get the all-in number for each one before I come out.
- Several vehicles, one visit — tell me how many and I’ll tell you honestly how many I can do in one visit.
- Travel — no travel fee inside Winnipeg; outside it, one travel charge for the whole visit, not one per vehicle, already in the price.
- Second key — half price for the same car at the same visit.
- No volume discount on top — those two are the savings.
Booking a visit, paying and invoices
I work 8 AM–9 PM, 7 days a week, holidays included. Message me the list ahead of time and we agree on a time that suits the lot. You pay per vehicle at the visit, the same way a private customer does, and I can give you an invoice in the company’s name on request. No Fix = No Pay applies to each vehicle, and every key I make carries a 1-year workmanship warranty.
For partners: used-car lots and tow operators
Run a used-car lot in one of the towns around Winnipeg, or a towing business? When a car you have needs a key, you get the same three terms I give every dealer and fleet: a second key for the same car at the same visit at half price, an invoice in your company’s name on request (you pay per vehicle at the visit), and one travel charge for the whole visit, not one per vehicle. Inside Winnipeg there is no travel fee; outside the city I charge $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to where the car is, and it is part of the all-in price I give you before I set out.
Before any work I check ownership, the same way I do for everyone: for a car your business owns, a bill of sale or the registration in the company’s name; for a customer’s car, the owner’s registration and a matching photo ID.
Message me as a partner on WhatsApp — the message is ready; add your business name, the car and where it is.
What I need for each vehicle
- Year, make and model — plus the VIN if you have it; for an auction or out-of-province car, the VIN first.
- Whether any key still works, and whether the car has push-button start — that decides $160, $170 or $200.
- Where it is parked — and whether that is inside Winnipeg.
- Proof the business owns it — a bill of sale or the registration in the company’s name, shown before any work. For a customer’s car, such as one at a tow yard: the owner’s registration and a matching photo ID.

Frequently asked questions
- Do you do regular or volume work for dealers and fleets?
- Yes, one-off and ongoing: each vehicle gets its price up front from my normal list, you pay per vehicle at the visit, and I can invoice in the company’s name on request. You deal with me, Andy, not a call centre.
- Do you come to our lot or yard?
- Yes — to your lot, yard or wherever the vehicles are, in Winnipeg and the surrounding area. Inside Winnipeg there is no travel fee; outside it, one travel charge covers the whole visit and is in the price up front.
- How much does it cost?
- A spare, chip key or fob starts from $160, a smart (push-to-start) key from $170, and all keys lost from $200, taxes in. A second key for the same car at the same visit is half price.
- Can you do several vehicles in one visit?
- Yes. Tell me how many and I’ll tell you honestly how many I can do in one visit. Outside Winnipeg you pay one travel charge for the visit, not one per vehicle; beyond that and the half-price second key, there is no volume discount.
- Do you make keys for auction cars or vehicles from other provinces?
- Yes, including ones with no key. Send me the VIN first and I’ll tell you before I come out whether I can make a key for it and what it costs. If the car is not registered to the business yet, I check the bill of sale.
- What do you need from us?
- For each vehicle: the year, make and model (the VIN helps), whether a key still works, and proof the business owns it — a bill of sale or the registration in the company’s name, checked before any work.
