These are the plain-English terms for working with Gaucho Keys. No hidden clauses, no wall of legalese — just how we quote, get paid, stand behind our work, and keep your vehicle safe. By calling us, booking a job or using this website, you agree to them.

Who we are

Gaucho Keys is a mobile auto locksmith serving Winnipeg and nearby communities in Manitoba. We are a registered Manitoba business (Business Names Registry No. 10238113). We work on the road and come to you — there is no storefront or shop to visit. You deal directly with Andy, the person who does the work, from your first message to the finished key. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Gaucho Keys, and “you” means the person requesting or using our service.

The service we provide

We cut and program car keys, key fobs and remotes, and we help with vehicle lockouts. That is what we do, and we keep to it. We do not repair ignitions, we do not extract keys that have snapped off inside a lock or ignition, and we do not carry out bodywork, wiring or other mechanical repairs. If what you need falls outside what we do, we will tell you plainly so you are not left waiting on the wrong help.

Quotes and pricing

Every price we give is all-in and taxes included. The number we quote you up front is the number you pay — there are no extras added at your car, and no charges you did not hear about first. Call-out inside Winnipeg is free. For towns outside Winnipeg there is a small travel fee based on distance, and it is already folded into the single up-front price we give you before we set out. If we cannot give a firm price without first seeing the key or the vehicle, we will say so and explain why.

No Fix = No Pay

You pay only for the result. If we cannot get you a working key or open your car, you pay nothing — no call-out fee, no deposit, no “we came out so you owe us” charge. We are paid when the problem is actually solved, and not before.

Payment

Payment is due on completion — once the key works or your car is open. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Interac e-Transfer and cash.

Warranty

Every car key or fob we cut or program carries a 1-year workmanship warranty against defects in our own work — the cut, the chip and the programming. It does not cover physical or water damage, a lost or stolen key, the fob battery, or a fault in the vehicle itself. Proof of ownership

Before we make a key for any vehicle, we ask to see the vehicle registration together with photo ID that matches it. This is a standing condition of our service, not an occasional request. It protects vehicle owners: it is how we make sure a key is only ever made for the person who owns the car. If ownership cannot be shown, we may decline the job. We would rather turn away a genuine customer than risk handing a working key to the wrong person, so please have your documents ready.

The short version

You pay only when the key works, at an all-in price agreed up front. Every key or fob we make is backed by a 1-year workmanship warranty, and we make keys only for verified owners.

Limits of our responsibility

We take real care with every job. Where the law allows, our responsibility for any single job is limited to the price you paid for that job, and we are not responsible for indirect or knock-on losses. Nothing in these terms takes away or limits the rights you have as a consumer under Manitoba law — those statutory rights always stand, and our terms sit on top of them, never in place of them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba, Canada, together with the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute arising from them will be dealt with under Manitoba law.
