Two guarantees, one promise
Most locksmiths make you hunt for their warranty terms and their payment terms on separate pages. We put both right here, because they add up to one simple promise: you are covered twice — before you pay, and after.
Before you pay, our No Fix = No Pay guarantee means the risk is ours, not yours. After the job, a 1-year workmanship warranty stands behind every key and fob we make. That’s it — no membership, no registration form, no receipt to dig up.
No Fix = No Pay
You pay only for the result — a working key in your hand, or your car open. If we can’t do the job, you pay nothing. No call-out fee, no deposit, no “we came out so you owe us” charge. We only get paid when the problem is actually solved.
That’s deliberate. It keeps us honest about what we can and can’t do for your vehicle before we ever head your way, and it means calling us is never a gamble. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t cost.
Your 1-year workmanship warranty
Every car key or fob we cut or program is covered for a full year against defects in our work — the cutting, the chip and the programming. If a key we made stops working on its own because of one of those things within 12 months, we repair or replace it free.
Why a whole year? Because if something in the cut, the chip or the programming isn’t right, it almost always shows up in the first days or weeks of use. A full year gives you plenty of room to be sure the key we made is solid. This is a workmanship warranty — it stands behind the quality of the work we did, not against every possible thing that can happen to a key afterward.
What the warranty does not cover
To keep things fair and clear, here’s what falls outside the workmanship warranty:
- Physical or water damage — a key that’s been dropped, crushed, run over or soaked isn’t a defect in our work.
- A lost or stolen key — making a fresh replacement is a new job, not a warranty repair.
- The fob battery — a normal consumable, like the battery in any remote. It wears out with use.
- A fault in the vehicle itself — if the problem is in the car’s wiring, receiver or immobiliser rather than the key we made.
So we can assess a claim properly, the original key we made must be presented. That lets us look at the actual cut, chip and programming and tell you honestly whether it’s a workmanship defect we’ll cover or something else.
How to make a claim
No forms, no hoops. If a key or fob we made isn’t behaving, you’ve got two easy options:
- Send a photo and a quick note on WhatsApp — a picture usually tells us most of what we need to know.
- Or simply call +1 (204) 406-1801 and tell us what’s happening.
Either way, we’ll look at it, figure out whether it’s a defect in our work, and sort it out. If it is, the repair or replacement is on us.
The short version
You pay only when the key works. Every key or fob we cut or program carries a 1-year workmanship warranty. All our prices are public and all-in — taxes, cutting and programming included — on the pricing page.
Prices, and your legal rights
Every price we quote is all-in and taxes included, agreed before we start — no surprises added at your car. And you deal directly with Andy, the person who does the work, from the first message to the finished key.
None of this replaces the law. Under Manitoba consumer-protection legislation you have statutory rights as a customer, and nothing on this page limits or removes them — our guarantees sit on top of those rights, they don’t stand in for them.
Frequently asked questions
- How long is the warranty?
- One year. Every car key or fob we cut or program is covered for 12 months against defects in our own work — the cut, the chip or the programming. If it fails on its own from one of those within the year, we repair or replace it free.
- What if I just can’t get the key to work later?
- Text us a photo on WhatsApp or give us a call and we will assess it. If it turns out to be a defect in the key we made — the cut, chip or programming — the repair or replacement is free within the year.
- Do I pay if you can’t make my key?
- No. That is our No Fix = No Pay promise: if we cannot get you a working key or open your car, you pay nothing — no call-out fee and no deposit.
- Does the warranty cover a dead fob battery?
- No — the fob battery is a normal consumable, like the battery in any remote, so it is not a defect in our work. We can replace it for you if you would like.
