Mobile auto locksmith in Oakbank

In Aspen Lakes, on Poplar Drive or in the Family Foods lot on Main Street, the key, fob or lockout is done where the car sits, and the all-in price, travel included, is what you hear before I drive out.

Oakbank sits about 14 km east of the Winnipeg city limit by road, in the RM of Springfield, and with 5,041 residents at the 2021 census it is the largest unincorporated community in Manitoba — a commuter town, so most of the driving here is the run in and out of the city. Main Street is Provincial Road 206: southbound it carries on to Dugald, about 6 km away, where it meets Highway 15; northbound it leaves town and reaches Garven Road (Provincial Road 213) roughly 4 km on, then runs up to Lockport.

Family Foods sits at 674 Main Street near Almey Avenue, where the rail line crosses Main, while the Co-op food store, the Co-op gas bar and the Tim Hortons are clustered at the south end, where Main runs into Springfield Road. All three schools stand in a row west along Cedar Avenue, and the arena is east on Almey.

Oakbank has no back lanes anywhere, so the car is nearly always in its own driveway or an attached garage — on the tree-named streets that make up most of the town, Poplar Drive, Willow Avenue, Elm Drive and Maple Drive, or out in Aspen Lakes, where Linden Lake Drive bends around the water.

After that it is a short list of lots: the Co-op food store and gas bar on Co-op Drive, Family Foods on Main Street, the three school lots on Cedar Avenue, the arena at 1016 Almey Avenue, and the Tim Hortons where Main meets Springfield Road. Whichever it is, the work happens at the car and nothing gets towed anywhere.

I cover Oakbank, east of Winnipeg. The travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to Oakbank, worked into the exact, all-in number you get before I set out — never a surprise when I pull up.

What I do on-site

  • On-site anywhere in Oakbank — a driveway on Poplar Drive, a garage off Linden Lake Drive in Aspen Lakes, the Co-op lot on Co-op Drive, the school lots on Cedar Avenue, or the arena on Almey Avenue. The car does not need to go into the city.
  • Everything from one spare to a full set when every key is gone — lockouts, fobs, remotes and transponder (chip) keys included, for most makes and models, older cars included, programmed in the driveway.
  • All-in price up front, no call-out fee — car lockout from $150, spare, chip key or fob from $160, smart / push-to-start from $170, all keys lost from $200, taxes included. Oakbank is outside Winnipeg, so the travel fee is already folded into that number and you hear it before I leave; you pay only once the key works or the car is open.
  • Half price on a second key — same car, cut at the same visit, with a 1-year warranty on the work. Much easier while the car is sitting at home on Willow Avenue, Elm Drive or Linden Lake Drive than after the only key has gone missing.
  • Open 8 AM to 9 PM, 7 days — holidays included. Springfield minor hockey nights at the arena on Almey Avenue and Sunday mornings in the Co-op lot both sit inside those hours. Call, text or WhatsApp +1 (204) 406-1801.
