Mobile auto locksmith in Headingley
In Headingley the car might be on the Trans-Canada strip where Portage Avenue leaves the city, or in a driveway on either bank of the Assiniboine. A lost key, a dead fob or a lockout is sorted out where it is parked, with the drive counted into one price you hear first.
The municipality sits directly west of Winnipeg, and two roads bring you out from the city. Portage Avenue carries on past the Perimeter as the Trans-Canada Highway and runs through the middle of Headingley under the same name. South of the river, Roblin Boulevard continues west of the Perimeter as Provincial Road 241, the local alternative to Portage, and ends at PR 334 in South Headingley.
PR 334 is what ties the two sides of the river together. From Roblin Boulevard it turns onto Bridge Road and crosses the Assiniboine on the historic Taylor Bridge, runs briefly with the Trans-Canada through the centre of town, then heads north on Dodd Road to Saskatchewan Avenue. So “Headingley” can mean the highway strip, the streets north of it, or South Headingley across the bridge — worth saying which.
It is its own rural municipality, not part of Winnipeg: folded into the city in 1972, Headingley voted to leave in 1991 and has governed itself since 1993.
The Headingley Community Centre is at 5353 Portage Avenue, the older Phoenix Community Centre is at 153 Seekings Street in the south hamlet, and Breezy Bend Country Club is one of the courses that take turns hosting the Manitoba Open.
In winter the Hockey Hutch runs two outdoor rinks and a lit skating trail through the trees, and the Headingley Grand Trunk Trail follows an old railbed from the Perimeter out to Beaudry Park. A cold evening at the rink or the trail is a bad time to find the fob has given up, or that the only key is somewhere in the snow.
Headingley borders Winnipeg but is outside the city. The travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to where the car is in Headingley, worked into the exact, all-in number you get before I set out — never a surprise when I pull up.
What I do on-site
- On-site anywhere in Headingley — a business on the Portage Avenue strip, a driveway off Dodd Road, a yard along Roblin Boulevard in South Headingley, or the lot at the Community Centre. No towing back into the city.
- Spare keys, lost keys, lockouts, fobs and chip keys — cut and programmed at the car, north of the Taylor Bridge or south of it. Most makes and models, older cars included.
- One price up front, no call-out fee — car lockout from $150, spare, chip key or fob from $160, smart / push-to-start from $170, all keys lost from $200, taxes included. Headingley is its own municipality outside Winnipeg, so a travel fee is already in that figure, and you hear the total before I leave. You pay only once the key works or the car is open.
- Half price on a second key — same car, cut at the same visit, with a 1-year warranty on the work. Much easier to arrange with the car at home than on the day the last key goes missing at the Hockey Hutch or out on the Grand Trunk Trail.
- Open 8 AM to 9 PM, 7 days — holidays included, so a weekend round at Breezy Bend or a weeknight at the Community Centre both fall inside my hours. Call, text or WhatsApp +1 (204) 406-1801.

Before any work, I always check your vehicle registration and a matching photo ID. It is a standard part of how I operate — to confirm the vehicle is yours and keep everything above board.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you come to Headingley?
- Yes — anywhere in the RM. That means the Portage Avenue strip, the streets north of the highway off Dodd Road, and South Headingley across the river along Roblin Boulevard and Seekings Street; the car stays where it is and nothing gets towed. Because Headingley borders Winnipeg without being part of it, the price includes a travel fee, and the figure you hear before I head out is the whole figure. Tell me the year, make and model, and we book a time once the price suits you.
- When can you reach Headingley?
- My hours are 8 AM to 9 PM every day, holidays included. Headingley starts right at Winnipeg’s western edge, but when I can come still depends on which side of the river the car is on and on the jobs already booked that day, so call or message +1 (204) 406-1801 for an honest answer. The distance part of the price is already in the one all-in number you get before I leave.
- Do you cover South Headingley, across the Taylor Bridge?
- Yes. South Headingley is reached from the city along Roblin Boulevard, which carries on past the Perimeter as Provincial Road 241, and from the north side over the Taylor Bridge on Bridge Road. Both sides of the river are on-site work for me. When you message, say whether the car is north or south of the Assiniboine and give the street, and send a photo of the key on WhatsApp if you can.
- What can you do on-site in Headingley?
- Cutting and programming a spare, making a new key when the last one is gone, opening a locked car, pairing fobs and chip keys — all of it beside the car, whether that is a business on Portage Avenue or a driveway near the Grand Trunk Trail. Most makes and models, older cars included.
- How much does it cost in Headingley?
- Opening a locked car in Headingley is from $150. A spare, chip key or fob is from $160, a smart / push-to-start key from $170, and a new key when none are left from $200, all with taxes included. Headingley sits outside the City of Winnipeg, so the travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to where the car is; it is part of the all-in price I give you before I set out, and you pay only once the key works or the car is open. Some makes cost more — the pricing page lists the rest.
