Mobile auto locksmith in Île-des-Chênes

In Île-des-Chênes the car could be on Main Street, at the TC Energy Centre on Rivard Street or in a driveway at home. A lost key, a fob that has given up or a door closed on the keys is sorted out where the car is parked, with the trip from the city folded into one price you are told first.

Île-des-Chênes, often shortened to IDC, lies about 9 km south-east of the Winnipeg city limit by road, just east of Highway 59, the road south from the city past Sage Creek. PR 405 starts at Highway 59 on the north side of the village, heads due east to Main Street and carries on for 15.5 km under several local names — Van Gorp Road, Brule Road, Manning Road and River Road among them — east past Lorette, where it follows the south bank of the Seine, to PR 206.

It is an unincorporated community in the Municipality of Ritchot, whose office is in St. Adolphe. The name means Island of the Oaks, after a stand of oaks on higher ground where early settlers took refuge when the spring floodwaters rose.

It is still a francophone village, and the schools show it: École/Collège régional Gabrielle-Roy teaches kindergarten to Grade 12 in French for the Division scolaire franco-manitobaine and draws students from Lorette, St. Norbert, La Salle, Niverville and further afield, and École Île-des-Chênes School at 455 D’Auteuil Street, part of the Seine River School Division, teaches K–8 in English and French immersion.

The village arena offers free public skating, and the TC Energy Centre at 1 Rivard Street is a 30,000-square-foot banquet hall with room for up to 500 guests, busy with weddings, socials and graduations. Optimist Park holds the diamonds of the Seine River Minor Ball Association, groomed trails take snowshoes and cross-country skis, and the Winter Festival brings a vintage car show, a pea soup and chili contest and fireworks.

So the car might be in the Rivard Street lot after a social, at the arena on a hockey night, at one of the schools at pickup time, or outside a business on Main Street — restaurants, a gas station, a hardware store, a credit union, repair shops and a wellness centre with a pharmacy.

I cover Île-des-Chênes, south-east of Winnipeg on Highway 59. It sits outside the city limits, so the travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to Île-des-Chênes; it is part of the price, and you get the exact, all-in figure before I head out.

What I do on-site

  • On-site anywhere in Île-des-Chênes — a driveway at home, the TC Energy Centre lot on Rivard Street, the arena, the school lot on D’Auteuil Street, or Main Street. No towing up Highway 59 into the city.
  • Keys from scratch, spares, lockouts, fobs and chip keys — cut and programmed at the car for most makes and models, older cars included, with nothing driven or hauled to a shop.
  • Up-front, all-in price — car lockout from $150, spare, chip key or fob from $160, smart / push-to-start from $170, all keys lost from $200, taxes included. Île-des-Chênes is outside Winnipeg, so a travel fee is included in that number, and you hear the total before I set out. No call-out fee, and you pay only when the key works or the car is open.
  • Half price on a second key — same car, same visit, with a 1-year warranty on the work. A spare made at home on a quiet evening is far less trouble than an only key lost in the arena lot on game night.
  • Open 8 AM to 9 PM, 7 days — holidays included, so a Saturday wedding at the TC Energy Centre or a weeknight ball game at Optimist Park both fit. Call, text or WhatsApp +1 (204) 406-1801.

Frequently asked questions

Do you come to Île-des-Chênes?
Yes, anywhere in the village and the farmland around it. The work happens at the car — a driveway, Main Street, the Rivard Street lot or a school lot — so nothing is towed up Highway 59. Île-des-Chênes is outside Winnipeg, so a travel fee applies, and it is already inside the exact, all-in price you hear first. Give me the year, make and model, and once the price suits you we pick a day and time.
When can you reach Île-des-Chênes?
Any day from 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays included. The timing comes down to the run south on Highway 59 and what is already on the schedule that day, so call or message +1 (204) 406-1801 and I will tell you plainly when I can come. The travel fee for the distance is part of the one all-in number I give you before leaving.
Do you cover the arena and the TC Energy Centre?
Yes. A lockout after a hockey game, a fob that stops working in the lot during a wedding at 1 Rivard Street, or a key lost somewhere between the ball diamonds at Optimist Park and the car — all of it is on-site work. Tell me which lot and roughly where the car is parked, and if you can, send a WhatsApp photo of any key you still have.
What can you do on-site in Île-des-Chênes?
Keys cut and programmed from scratch when all of them are gone, a spare from the key you still have, a locked car opened, and fobs or chip keys paired to the car — at home, on Main Street or in the Rivard Street lot. That covers most makes and models, older cars included.
How much does it cost in Île-des-Chênes?
Prices start at $150 for a lockout, $160 for a spare, chip key or fob, $170 for a smart / push-to-start key and $200 when every key is lost, taxes included. The travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to Île-des-Chênes; it is part of the all-in price I give you before I set out, never added at the door, and you pay only once the key works or the car is open. A few makes cost more, and the pricing page has the details.
