Nissan Rogue Car Keys in Winnipeg

Most Nissan Rogues use a smart proximity key (Nissan Intelligent Key) for push-to-start, while older Rogues run on a transponder (chip) key — I cut and program them on-site, anywhere in Winnipeg, no dealership trip and no towing.

Nissan Rogue keys I make on-site

The Nissan Rogue is one of the most common compact SUVs on Winnipeg roads, so I make Rogue keys regularly. Depending on the year and trim, your Rogue likely uses one of two main setups: many newer Rogues carry a Nissan Intelligent Key — a smart proximity fob for keyless entry and push-to-start — while older Rogues typically use a transponder (chip) key, sometimes paired with a separate remote. I cut and program both on-site, so there's no dealership trip and no towing.

Whether you've lost every key, want a spare before winter, or need a fob or smart key set up, I confirm the exact key your Nissan Rogue takes for your year and trim and give you the price up front before any work starts.

What I do for the Nissan Rogue

Lost all keys — a brand-new Nissan Rogue key generated and programmed from scratch, even with nothing to copy. Spare and duplicate keys — a backup so a single lost fob never strands you, which matters in a Winnipeg winter, with half price on a second key for the same car, same visit. Key fob and remote programming — Rogue remotes and Intelligent Keys paired to your SUV. Transponder (chip) and smart push-to-start keys — cut and programmed on the spot, depending on your year and trim.

I cover most Nissan Rogue vehicles from 2008 on — the year the Rogue arrived. On 2014–2018 push-button Rogues I read the body-control-module part number first — a few versions are not safe to program on-site, and I tell you before I start. Tell me your exact year and trim — by phone, text, or WhatsApp with a photo of your key — and I’ll confirm what your Rogue needs.

Nissan Rogue keys by year

Which Rogue key you need lines up closely with its generation, though all of them rely on Nissan’s NATS (Nissan Anti-Theft System) transponder immobilizer, so even the earliest ones need a chip the car recognizes before it starts. First-generation Rogues (roughly 2008–2013) generally use a transponder (chip) key, often paired with a separate remote. With the second generation (about 2014–2020) the Nissan Intelligent Key — a proximity smart fob for keyless entry and push-to-start — became common, especially on higher trims, while some base models kept a remote-head or flip-style key. Third-generation Rogues (2021 and newer) generally use the Intelligent Key across the board. I confirm exactly which key your Rogue takes from your year and VIN, then cut and program it on-site.

Nissan Rogue key or fob not working? Common fixes

Every Rogue relies on Nissan’s NATS immobilizer, so it always needs a chip the car recognizes. Older Rogues use a transponder key; newer ones use the Nissan Intelligent Key.

  • NATS won’t recognize the key — The engine won’t start because NATS isn’t reading the chip. I program a correctly-coded key to the Rogue.
  • Intelligent Key won’t start it — A weak fob battery or a de-synced Intelligent Key stops push-button start — I replace the battery or re-program the fob.
  • Older transponder key worn — A worn first-generation blade sticks in the lock — I cut a fresh key.
  • Lost all Rogue keys — I build and program a brand-new key from scratch, on-site.

Not sure which one it is? Send a photo of your Nissan Rogue key on WhatsApp and I’ll tell you what you need. You pay only once it works.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of key does a Nissan Rogue use, and can you make one?
It goes by generation and trim. First-generation Rogues (about 2008–2013) generally use a transponder (chip) key, often with a separate remote. On the second generation (about 2014–2020) the Nissan Intelligent Key became common, especially on higher trims, while some base models kept a remote-head or flip-style key. Third-generation Rogues (2021 and newer) generally use the Intelligent Key across the board. I cut and program them on-site; send me your exact year and I confirm what you need.
How much is a Nissan Rogue key in Winnipeg?
On a 2008–2013 Rogue a chip key starts from $160, and so does a remote-head or flip key on a turn-key 2014–2020 Rogue, or a fob or remote programmed on its own. A Nissan Intelligent Key for a push-button Rogue starts from $170, and all keys lost from $200, taxes included. A second key at the same visit is half price. You get the exact all-in price before I set out, there is no call-out fee, and you pay only once the key works.
Can you program an Intelligent Key on a 2014–2018 push-button Rogue?
Usually, yes. On 2014–2018 push-button Rogues I read the body-control-module part number first — a few versions are not safe to program on-site, and I tell you before I start. If yours is one of them, I say so, and with No Fix = No Pay it has cost you nothing.
Do you come to me in Winnipeg for a Nissan Rogue key?
Yes. I am a mobile auto locksmith, so I come to you — at home, at work, or wherever your Rogue is parked — anywhere in Winnipeg and the surrounding area, including Selkirk, Headingley and Oakbank. Inside Winnipeg the drive is free; outside Winnipeg a distance-based travel fee is part of the all-in price I give you before I set out. No towing to a dealership. I am open 8 AM–9 PM, 7 days a week.
What should I have ready, and how long does it take?
Have your vehicle registration and a matching photo ID ready — a standard check to confirm the Nissan Rogue is yours before I start. At the car, a chip key, remote or fob usually takes 20–50 minutes, and an Intelligent Key or all keys lost 30–60. I confirm the exact key and the price first, so there are no surprises.
