Windsor Park lies north of Fermor Avenue, between Archibald Street on the west and Lagimodière Boulevard on the east. Its main streets are Autumnwood Drive, Drake Boulevard, Cottonwood Road and Maginot Street, and most people here live in bungalows built in the 1950s and 1960s.
It was Winnipeg's first master-planned community, laid out by Ladco from 1955, with the Cottonwood Shopping Centre at its heart.
Prendergast School at 906 Cottonwood Road now houses a seniors centre and childcare, Windsor Park Collegiate is at 1015 Cottonwood Road, and the library branch is at 1195 Archibald Street.
Winakwa Community Centre, 980 Winakwa Road, is on the south side of the street just west of Speers Road and shares its grounds with the collegiate: two hockey rinks, two baseball diamonds, the Windsor Park Outdoor Pool, tennis courts and a community garden, with a parking lot off Winakwa Road. The golf course that carries the neighbourhood's name is at 10 Des Meurons Street, on the Seine River between St. Boniface and St. Vital. From December to March the same ground is the Windsor Park Nordic Centre, with 10 km of classic and skate trails, nearly all of them lit for evening skiing.
So the car is usually in a driveway or at the curb in front of a bungalow, and that is where a lost or worn-out key tends to come to light. The other spots are the Winakwa lot during a game or a swim, the collegiate on a school day, and the golf course on Des Meurons — golf in summer, skiing in winter. I work until 9 PM, so after an evening ski, message before nine.

The tools come to the car, so nothing is hauled to a shop.

Windsor Park is inside Winnipeg, so nothing is added for the drive; a second key for the same car at the same visit is half price, and some makes cost more (see all prices).
- Can you come to the golf course or the Nordic Centre?
- Yes. The course at 10 Des Meurons Street is inside Winnipeg like the rest: a lockout there starts from $150 and a replacement key or fob from $160. The Nordic Centre runs from December to March and its trails are lit into the evening, but I work until 9 PM, so message me before then. Keep your vehicle registration and a photo ID to hand — they are checked before any work starts.
- Can you meet me at Winakwa Community Centre or Windsor Park Collegiate?
- Yes. The community centre is at 980 Winakwa Road, just west of Speers Road, with its parking off Winakwa Road, and it shares its grounds with the collegiate on Cottonwood Road. Tell me which lot you are in and what happened — a key locked inside, a fob that stopped working, or no key at all — and it is handled beside the car.
