St. Vital fills the south-east corner of Winnipeg between the Red River on the west and the Seine River on the east, running south from Carrière Avenue past the Perimeter Highway to the edge of the R.M. of Ritchot. St. Mary's Road, Dakota Street and St. Anne's Road are the north-south routes through it, and Fermor Avenue and Abinojii Mikanah — the former Bishop Grandin Boulevard — cut across them.
The older houses sit up by the river around Kingston Crescent and Elm Park, Norberry and Meadowood fill the middle, and the streets get newer the closer you get to the Perimeter through River Park South and Dakota Crossing.

The exception is the St. Vital Centre lot at St. Mary's Road and Abinojii Mikanah, with close to 4,700 stalls — a locked door or a dead fob there leaves you standing in a full parking lot with your shopping beside you. I also work in the lot at St. Vital Park on River Road, at Maple Grove Park on Frobisher Road down by the Perimeter, and at the Dakota Community Centre on Dakota Street when a key ends up shut inside the car during a game.
