Mobile auto locksmith in Tuxedo

Whether the car is in a driveway in Old Tuxedo, outside the Tuxedo Park Shopping Centre on Corydon Avenue or in a row at the Outlet Collection off Sterling Lyon Parkway, I open it, cut the spare or program the new key and fob beside it — and you hear the price before anything is cut.

Tuxedo lies about 7 km south-west of downtown. The Assiniboine River and Assiniboine Park run along its north side, Shaftesbury Boulevard marks the west, Kenaston Boulevard (Route 90) the east and McGillivray Boulevard the south. Corydon Avenue, Tuxedo Avenue and Grant Avenue carry the east–west traffic, while Park Boulevard and Shaftesbury run north–south. Old Tuxedo takes the south bank of the river between Park Boulevard North and Kenaston, Tuxedo itself fills the blocks from Corydon down to Grant, and South Tuxedo and the Tuxedo Industrial area make up the rest, down to McGillivray.

For most of its history Tuxedo was a town of its own, planned as a residential-only enclave and incorporated in 1913, before it joined Winnipeg in 1972.

The Tuxedo Park Shopping Centre is at 2025 Corydon Avenue. On the residential side the job is done wherever the car already stands — a private driveway in Old Tuxedo, the curb on Tuxedo Avenue, or the street by Heubach Park on Grant Avenue at Park Boulevard. School lots count too: Shaftesbury High School, St. Paul's High School, the Gray Academy of Jewish Education at the Asper Jewish Community Campus, and Ecole Tuxedo Park School, which shares its grounds with the Tuxedo Community Centre on Southport Boulevard. The centre has hockey rinks for the winter and tennis courts and a lawn bowling club for the summer, so a key shut inside a car there can happen in any month.

Down by Kenaston Boulevard and the Sterling Lyon Parkway, Tuxedo is a shopping district: IKEA anchors Seasons of Tuxedo at Kenaston and Sterling Lyon, and the Outlet Collection Winnipeg sits just across from it at 555 Sterling Lyon Parkway, with about 2,300 parking stalls. In lots that size a dead fob or a key locked in the trunk with the shopping is handled in the stall; give me the store entrance and the row.

Then there is the park. Assiniboine Park, on Tuxedo's northern edge, holds the Pavilion, the Assiniboine Park Zoo, the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden and The Leaf conservatory. Losing a key on a day out there or at the Tuxedo Golf Course does not mean a tow — a new one is cut and programmed where the car is parked.

What I do on-site

  • On-site anywhere in Tuxedo — a driveway in Old Tuxedo between Park Boulevard North and Kenaston, the curb by Heubach Park, the Tuxedo Park Shopping Centre lot on Corydon Avenue, the Tuxedo Community Centre on Southport Boulevard, or a stall at IKEA or the Outlet Collection. No tow truck.
  • Lost keys, spares, lockouts, fobs and chip keys — made and programmed beside the car for most makes and models, older cars included, even when no working key is left to copy.
  • Up-front price, no call-out fee — opening a locked car from $150, a spare, chip key or fob from $160, a smart key from $170 and all keys lost from $200, taxes included. The key has to work before you pay.
  • Half price on a second key — cut for the same car during the same visit; the work carries a 1-year warranty.
  • Open 8 AM to 9 PM, seven days, holidays included — call, text or WhatsApp +1 (204) 406-1801 with the year, make and model.

How I keep it legitimate

Car lockout from $150 · spare, chip key or fob from $160 · smart key from $170 · lost key from $200.

You always get the price up front and pay only once the key works. See my full pricing.

1-year warranty on my work · No call-out fee · Half price on a second key for the same car, same visit — you pay only for the result.

Frequently asked questions

Do you come to Tuxedo?
Yes. Gaucho Keys is fully mobile, so the work happens where the car already is — a driveway in Old Tuxedo, the curb on Tuxedo Avenue or Park Boulevard, the Tuxedo Park Shopping Centre lot on Corydon, the school lots at Shaftesbury High School or St. Paul's, or the rows at IKEA and the Outlet Collection. Everything from the Assiniboine River south to McGillivray, and from Shaftesbury east to Kenaston, is ordinary ground for me, and none of it needs a tow.
When can you reach Tuxedo?
Tuxedo is covered seven days a week from 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays included. I don't guess at an arrival time, because it depends on where the day's other jobs are; call or text +1 (204) 406-1801 with your spot — Old Tuxedo, Corydon or the stores on Kenaston — and I'll tell you honestly when I can be there, then we agree a time.
What can you do on-site in Tuxedo?
I open locked cars without damage, cut spare and duplicate keys, replace lost ones and program fobs, remotes and transponder (chip) keys for most makes and models, older cars included. When every key is gone, a new one is cut and programmed from nothing at the car, whether that is a garage in Old Tuxedo or a parking row at the Outlet Collection. The vehicle registration and a matching photo ID are checked first, every time.
Can you help in the IKEA or Outlet Collection lot?
Yes. The Outlet Collection at 555 Sterling Lyon Parkway has about 2,300 stalls and IKEA is just across from it, so send the store entrance and the row you are parked in. A lockout, a dead fob or a lost key is sorted out in that stall; the car does not have to be moved or towed first.
How much does it cost in Tuxedo?
In Tuxedo, opening a locked car starts at $150, a spare, chip key or fob at $160, a smart or push-to-start key at $170, and making a key when all of them are lost at $200, with taxes already in each figure. Tuxedo is inside Winnipeg, so there is no travel charge on top; some makes cost more, you hear the exact price before the work, and payment comes once the key works (all prices).
