Mobile auto locksmith in River Heights
From the Grant Park Shopping Centre lot to a driveway on Oak, Elm or Ash Street, I open locked cars and cut and program replacement or spare keys and fobs beside the car, and the price is fixed before I start.
River Heights is one of Winnipeg’s larger community areas, with Kenaston Boulevard (Route 90) on the west, the Assiniboine River on the north, Cambridge Street on the east and Taylor Avenue on the south. Academy Road and Stafford Street are its main roads, and Corydon and Grant Avenues run through it as well.
It is divided into 17 neighbourhoods, among them North, Central and South River Heights, Grant Park, Mathers, Rockwood, Ebby-Wentworth, J.B. Mitchell, Sir John Franklin and Wellington Crescent, the band of stately homes between the river and Academy Road. From May to Thanksgiving that stretch of the Crescent, from one end of Academy Road to the other, is a City seasonal bike route: 30 km/h, barricades in summer and on weekends, and turn restrictions at Renfrew, Queenston, Oak and Guelph Streets. Near the east end, some streets are named after trees (Oak, Elm, Ash) and others after places (Waterloo, Montrose, Oxford). Crescentwood and the Corydon strip have pages of their own — see Crescentwood and Corydon.
Academy Road runs 3.3 km from the Maryland Bridge to Wellington Crescent just west of Kenaston and takes its name from St. Mary’s Academy, the girls’ school at 550 Wellington Crescent; the shops along it make up the Academy Road BIZ.
At the south end, Grant Park Shopping Centre at 1120 Grant Avenue has about 70 stores, McNally Robinson Booksellers and Landmark Cinemas among them. On the block bounded by Cambridge, Grant, Nathaniel and Taylor stand the Pan Am Pool, next to Grant Park High School, and the Bill and Helen Norrie Library at Grant Avenue and Cambridge Street.
Elsewhere the car may be in a driveway, a garage or at the curb of a residential street. The Corydon Community Centre, formed from the River Heights, Sir John Franklin and Crescentwood centres, runs its River Heights site at 1370 Grosvenor Avenue and keeps four free outdoor rinks at the Sir John Franklin site, 1 Sir John Franklin Road — keys shut in a car beside a rink in January are handled the same way as anywhere else.
What I do on-site
- On-site across River Heights — the Grant Park Shopping Centre lot, the parking at the Pan Am Pool or the Norrie Library, a driveway on Oak, Elm or Ash, a garage in Mathers or Central River Heights, the rinks at Sir John Franklin, or a spot on Academy Road outside the shops. Nobody tows anything.
- Lockouts, lost keys, spares, remotes and chip keys — keys and fobs cut and programmed in the parking spot for most makes and models, older cars included.
- Up-front price, no call-out fee — car lockout from $150, spare, chip key or fob from $160, smart key from $170, all keys lost from $200, taxes included. River Heights is inside Winnipeg, so there is no travel charge. You pay when the key works.
- Half price on the second key — same car, same visit, and the same 1-year warranty on the work; a sensible add-on when a household has been running on a single key.
- Every day, 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays included — call, text or WhatsApp +1 (204) 406-1801, or message after hours and I answer from 8 AM. If the car is on Wellington Crescent in bike-route season, add the nearest cross street.

Before any work, I always check your vehicle registration and a matching photo ID. It is a standard part of how I operate — to confirm the vehicle is yours and keep everything above board.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you come to River Heights?
- Yes, all of it: from the Assiniboine south to Taylor Avenue and from Cambridge Street west to Kenaston Boulevard, including Grant Park, Mathers, Rockwood, Sir John Franklin and the Wellington Crescent area north of Academy Road. The car is dealt with where it sits — a driveway, a garage, the curb or a shopping-centre lot — with no tow to a shop.
- When can you reach River Heights?
- River Heights is covered seven days a week, 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays included. The honest answer on timing depends on the day’s bookings and the traffic, so call or message +1 (204) 406-1801 and I tell you plainly. Once you know the price, we fix a day and time that fit your plans, and I arrive then.
- Can you meet me at Grant Park Shopping Centre?
- Yes. A lockout or a dead fob in the lot at 1120 Grant Avenue is handled right there, whether you were at the bookstore, the cinema or any of the other shops; tell me which entrance you are near and roughly which row, and send a photo of the key if you have one. The same goes for the parking at the Pan Am Pool or the Bill and Helen Norrie Library on the Grant Park campus.
- What can you do on-site in River Heights?
- Spares and replacement keys cut and programmed, fobs, remotes and transponder (chip) keys set up, and locked cars opened without damage, for most makes and models, older cars included. The work is done in the spot where the car is, from a driveway in South River Heights to the rinks at Sir John Franklin or the curb on Academy Road. When every key is gone, a new one is made from scratch at the car; I check the vehicle registration and a matching photo ID first.
- How much does it cost in River Heights?
- Across River Heights, a car lockout is from $150, a spare, chip key or fob from $160, a smart / push-to-start key from $170 and a lost-all-keys job from $200, with taxes included. The area is inside Winnipeg, so nothing is added for travel and there is no call-out fee; some makes cost more, and you pay only after the key works — see the price list.
