Mobile auto locksmith in North Kildonan
From a driveway off McIvor Avenue to the rinks at Gateway Recreation Centre, I open locked cars and cut and program spare or replacement keys and fobs at the car, and the price is settled before any work begins.
North Kildonan is the top of north-east Winnipeg. It starts at Oakland Avenue and runs north to the city limit: Glenway Avenue by the river, then a line just north of Knowles Avenue. Henderson Highway follows the east bank of the Red River north through it, crossing Chief Peguis Trail and McIvor Avenue, and leaves the city at Glenway Avenue, where it becomes PR 204. Lagimodière Boulevard runs through its east side. Its neighbourhoods include Rivergrove, Riverbend, Valhalla, Springfield North and South and Kil-Cona Park.
It was a rural municipality of its own from 1925 until it became part of Winnipeg in 1972.
Chief Peguis Trail is the newest road across it, running from Main Street over the Kildonan Settlers Bridge to Henderson Highway and on east to Lagimodière, with an overpass at Rothesay Street and a pedestrian bridge just west of Gateway Road that lifts the Northeast Pioneers Greenway over the traffic. Elsewhere in North Kildonan are River East Collegiate at 295 Sutton Avenue, River East Arena at 1410 Rothesay Street, and Gateway Recreation Centre at 1717 Gateway Road, with indoor and outdoor rinks and an indoor soccer pitch.
The largest green space is Kilcona Park, 99 hectares on a former landfill at 1229 Springfield Road, east of Lagimodière, with ponds, sports fields and an off-leash area on the hill east of the parking lot off the McIvor entrance. From August 2026 into fall 2027 the City is rebuilding the park's road, paths and parking lots; the main lot is reached through a temporary access and the west lot stays open, so tell me which Kilcona lot the car is in. Closer to the river, Bunn's Creek Trail follows the creek for about three kilometres from the Red River to Raleigh Street, with parking off McIvor Avenue, and in winter Bunn's Creek Park at 365 McIvor has a slide with night lighting and a warm-up room with a washroom.

Frequently asked questions
- Do you come to North Kildonan?
- Yes. I am fully mobile and come to the car: a driveway in Valhalla or Springfield North, a side street off Henderson Highway, outside River East Arena on Rothesay Street, Gateway Recreation Centre, or the parking at Kilcona Park. Anywhere from Oakland Avenue north to the city limit, and from the Red River east past Lagimodière Boulevard, is ordinary ground for Gaucho Keys. Nothing needs to be towed.
- When can you reach North Kildonan?
- North Kildonan is covered 7 days a week from 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays included. How soon depends on traffic on Henderson Highway and Chief Peguis Trail and on what is already booked that day, so call +1 (204) 406-1801 and I'll tell you honestly when I can be there. For a spare that is not urgent, pick a day and time that suit you once the price is agreed, and I come then.
- What can you do on-site in North Kildonan?
- Everything is done at the car: lost keys replaced, spare and duplicate keys cut, lockouts opened without damage, and fobs, remotes and transponder (chip) keys programmed, for most makes and models, older cars included. That can be a driveway near Edison Avenue or the streets by River East Collegiate on Sutton Avenue, and when no key is left at all, a new one is cut and programmed from scratch where the car stands. I check the vehicle registration and a matching photo ID first.
- How much does it cost in North Kildonan?
- Opening a locked car in North Kildonan starts from $150; a spare, chip key or fob from $160, a smart / push-to-start key from $170, and a new key when all of them are lost from $200, taxes included in each. North Kildonan is inside Winnipeg, so there is no travel charge on top. Some makes cost more, which I tell you up front, and you pay only once the key works (price list).
- Where does North Kildonan end and East St. Paul begin?
- At the city limit. On Henderson Highway that is Glenway Avenue, where the road becomes PR 204; east of there the line runs just north of Knowles Avenue. Everything south of it, the whole of North Kildonan included, is inside Winnipeg with no travel charge. North of it is the RM of East St. Paul, outside the city, where a travel fee by distance is built into the all-in price you hear before I set out.
