Mobile auto locksmith in East Kildonan
From a driveway off Munroe Avenue to the parking at Concordia Hospital, I open locked cars and cut and program spare or replacement keys and fobs at the vehicle, with the price agreed before I start.
East Kildonan is the middle piece of north-east Winnipeg, between Elmwood and North Kildonan. It begins at the lane between Harbison and Larsen Avenues and runs north to Oakland Avenue, with the Red River along its west side. Henderson Highway is its main road, running north close to the river, and Lagimodière Boulevard, further east, is the line with Transcona. Its neighbourhoods go by names like Munroe, Morse Place, Rossmere and Fraser's Grove, and the City's own neighbourhood list also has Munroe East and Valley Gardens, out toward Concordia Avenue.
It was a city in its own right from 1957 until the 1972 unicity made it part of Winnipeg.
Its landmarks are spread along a few avenues. Miles Macdonell Collegiate is at 757 Roch Street. Further east on Concordia Avenue come Kildonan East Collegiate at 845 and Concordia Hospital at 1095, with the Concordia Place care home beside the hospital and the Concordia Village seniors' buildings across from it on Molson Street.
Terry Sawchuk Arena shares 901 Kimberly Avenue with Civic Park, whose hill gives a view of the downtown skyline and is one of the City's listed toboggan hills, unlit and without a warm-up shelter. So besides driveways and curbs on the residential streets, the likely places for a car here are the hospital, the two collegiates and the arena, plus the small industrial strip between Watt Street and the CPR tracks. A key shut inside the car during a game at Terry Sawchuk or a fob that dies in the hospital parking after a long shift is a job done right there.
What I do on-site

Before any work, I always check your vehicle registration and a matching photo ID. It is a standard part of how I operate — to confirm the vehicle is yours and keep everything above board.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you come to East Kildonan?
- Yes — anywhere from the Harbison–Larsen lane north to Oakland Avenue, and from the Red River east to Lagimodière Boulevard, where Transcona starts. That covers a driveway in Munroe or Rossmere, the curb on Henderson Highway or Munroe Avenue, the Concordia Hospital parking, or outside Terry Sawchuk Arena on Kimberly Avenue. Gaucho Keys is fully mobile, so the car stays where it is and nothing goes on a tow truck.
- When can you reach East Kildonan?
- Every day from 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays included, I cover East Kildonan. The timing depends on traffic on Henderson Highway and on how far east toward Lagimodière the car is, so call +1 (204) 406-1801 and I'll tell you honestly when I can be there. Once you have the price, we settle on a day and a time that suit you, and I arrive at that time.
- What can you do on-site in East Kildonan?
- I replace lost car keys, cut spare and duplicate keys, open locked cars without damage and program key fobs, remotes and transponder (chip) keys, for most makes and models, older cars included. It is done at the car, whether that is a street by Miles Macdonell Collegiate on Roch Street or a driveway off Munroe Avenue, and if every key is gone a new one is cut and programmed from scratch on the spot. Your vehicle registration and a matching photo ID are checked first.
- How much does it cost in East Kildonan?
- The starting prices are $150 for a lockout, $160 for a spare, chip key or fob, $170 for a smart / push-to-start key and $200 when every key is gone, taxes included, for a car in the Concordia Hospital parking or a driveway off Munroe Avenue alike. East Kildonan is inside Winnipeg, so there is no travel charge on top; some makes cost more, and you pay only once the key works (full price list).
- Can you do the job in a parking lot, like at Concordia Hospital or the arena?
- Yes. A parking lot works as well as a driveway, whether it is the hospital parking on Concordia Avenue, outside Kildonan East Collegiate or at Terry Sawchuk Arena on Kimberly Avenue. Tell me which lot and roughly where in it the car is, and keep your vehicle registration and a photo ID to hand — I check them before any work starts.
