Mobile auto locksmith in Whyte Ridge

Whyte Ridge is mostly single-family houses, so the likeliest place for a key job here is your own driveway, and the next likeliest is a lot along McGillivray Boulevard. Either way the lockout, the spare or the replacement key is done at the car, with the price fixed before anything is cut.

The neighbourhood sits in the south-west corner of Winnipeg, south of McGillivray Boulevard and west of Kenaston Boulevard, reaching out to Brady Road at the city limits. The Whyte Ridge Community Centre draws its catchment a little wider — east to Waverley Street and south to the Manitoba Hydro lines just north of Abinojii Mikanah. Scurfield Boulevard and Columbia Drive run through it, with residential loops extending south of both, and Linden Woods is the neighbour across the Kenaston–McGillivray corner to the north-east.

It is a young suburb on old working ground: until the 1980s Kenaston was a minor road that served the inland cement plant and quarries. The name goes back to William Whyte, the railway manager, and the first Whyte Ridge homes went up in 1986 and the last in 2007.

East Lake and West Lake are man-made. The walking paths around the lakes, Scurfield Park with its sledding hill and its memorial to the victims of Flight PS752, and Leon Bell and Don Smith parks are the kind of places where a key slips out of a jacket pocket on a walk, leaving the car locked at the curb.

Whyte Ridge School (kindergarten to grade 4) and Henry G. Izatt Middle School (grades 5 to 9) both sit on Scurfield Boulevard, and the community centre at 170 Fleetwood Road has two hockey rinks, a splash pad and soccer fields; school pickup and rink nights are two of the moments a key can end up locked inside. The shopping sits along McGillivray: Kenaston Common beside Costco at the Kenaston corner, and the 12-screen Cineplex Odeon at 2190 McGillivray Boulevard.

What I do on-site

  • On-site anywhere in Whyte Ridge — a driveway off Scurfield Boulevard or Columbia Drive, the school lots on Scurfield, the community centre on Fleetwood Road, the paths by East Lake and West Lake, or the lots at Kenaston Common and the Cineplex on McGillivray. The car stays where it is.
  • Lost keys, spares, lockouts, fobs and chip keys — cut and programmed in the driveway or the parking stall for most makes and models, older cars included.
  • Up-front price, no call-out fee — lockout from $150; spare, chip key or fob from $160; smart key from $170; all keys lost from $200; taxes included, and you pay only when the key works.
  • Half price on a second key — same car, same visit, and the work comes with a 1-year warranty.
  • Open every day, 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays too — call, text or WhatsApp +1 (204) 406-1801; a photo of the key helps.

Frequently asked questions

Do you come to Whyte Ridge?
Yes. I am fully mobile, so the job is done where the car sits — a driveway on one of the loops off Scurfield Boulevard, the school lots on Scurfield, the community centre on Fleetwood Road, or the lots at Kenaston Common and the Cineplex on McGillivray. Everything south of McGillivray between Kenaston and Brady Road is inside Winnipeg, and none of it needs a tow.
When can you reach Whyte Ridge?
From 8 AM to 9 PM, every day of the year, holidays included. Timing depends on traffic and on the jobs already booked that day, so send the year, make and model with your street and I'll tell you honestly when I can be there; you pick a time from what is open, and I keep to it.
What can you do on-site in Whyte Ridge?
I open locked cars without damage, cut spares and duplicates, make new keys when the old ones are lost, and program fobs, remotes and transponder (chip) keys for most makes and models, older cars included. A car with no key left at all gets one cut and programmed from scratch, in your driveway or in a stall on McGillivray. Registration and a matching photo ID are checked before I start.
Can you meet me at Kenaston Common or the Cineplex on McGillivray?
Yes. Tell me which of the two you are at — Kenaston Common, beside Costco at the Kenaston and McGillivray corner, or the Cineplex Odeon at 2190 McGillivray — and roughly where the car is parked. A lockout or a dead fob is handled right in that spot, so a movie or a shopping trip does not end with a tow.
How much does it cost in Whyte Ridge?
Whyte Ridge prices, with taxes included: from $150 to open a locked car, from $160 for a spare, chip key or fob, from $170 for a smart / push-to-start key and from $200 when every key is lost. The neighbourhood ends at Brady Road, where the city limits are, so it is inside Winnipeg and there is no travel charge on top; certain makes cost more, and you pay only once the key works (see the price list).
