Mobile auto locksmith in Petersfield

A car locked by the boat ramp at the mouth of Netley Creek, a key that went missing after a night at the curling rink, a fob that gave up in a driveway along the creek — in Petersfield it is all handled where the vehicle is parked, with the distance counted into one price you hear first.

Petersfield is an unincorporated community in the RM of St. Andrews, about 44 km north of the Winnipeg city limit by road, close to where the Red River runs out into Lake Winnipeg. Highway 9 is the road through it: past Selkirk it heads north-west through Clandeboye, then bends due north into Petersfield, crosses Netley Creek and carries on to Netley, where it meets PTH 17, before it picks up the lakeshore at Matlock.

Netley Creek runs right through Petersfield. It passes under Highway 9 here on its way to the Red River, and at its mouth on the west bank sits Netley Creek Provincial Park. Provincial Road 320 gets there from Main Street in downtown Selkirk: it becomes Breezy Point Road outside the city, loses its pavement at Clandeboye Road and dead-ends at a boat ramp on the Netley Marsh, part of Netley-Libau Marsh, Manitoba’s largest coastal wetland.

The village symbol is the giant mallard in Mallard Park on Highway 9, put up in 1996. The Petersfield Community Club looks after three parks and a community centre along the creek, in summer the Mallard Park Market sets up under the duck’s wings, and the Petersfield Curling Club at 700 Main Street runs curling leagues from October to April and pickleball from May to September.

Around it, the RM of St. Andrews is farmland, residential areas and seasonal cottages around the creeks and waterways.

I cover Petersfield, north of Selkirk on Highway 9. It is outside Winnipeg, so the travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to Petersfield, part of the price — you get the exact, all-in figure before I set out, and that is the figure you pay once the job is done.

What I do on-site

  • On-site anywhere in Petersfield — a driveway on Jenny Drive or one of the other streets by the creek, the curling club at 700 Main Street, Mallard Park beside Highway 9, or the boat ramp at the end of PR 320 in Netley Creek Provincial Park. Nothing has to be towed to Selkirk.
  • Lost keys, spares, fobs and chip keys — cut and programmed at the vehicle, and locked cars opened without damage. Most makes and models, older cars included.
  • The price comes first — car lockout from $150, spare, chip key or fob from $160, smart / push-to-start from $170, all keys lost from $200, taxes included. The travel fee for the trip up Highway 9 is already inside that figure, there is no call-out fee, and you pay only when the key works or the car is open.
  • A second key at half price — same car, same visit, with the 1-year warranty on my work. If the truck that goes to the boat ramp has only one key, a spare at home is worth sorting out before that key ends up in the marsh.
  • Open 8 AM to 9 PM, 7 days — holidays included. Call, text or WhatsApp +1 (204) 406-1801 with the year, make and model.

Frequently asked questions

Do you come to Petersfield?
Yes. Gaucho Keys is a mobile auto locksmith, so the work is done at the vehicle anywhere in Petersfield — on Jenny Drive and the other streets by Netley Creek, at the curling club on Main Street, in Mallard Park beside Highway 9, or by the boat ramp in Netley Creek Provincial Park. Petersfield is outside Winnipeg, so a travel fee for the distance is part of the price, and you hear the exact all-in total before I leave. Tell me the year, make and model, and once you know the price we agree a day and time that suit you.
When can you reach Petersfield?
Any day of the week from 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays included. Petersfield is up Highway 9, past Selkirk and Clandeboye, so when I can get there depends on that drive and on the jobs already booked for the day. Call or message +1 (204) 406-1801 for an honest answer on timing, given together with the all-in price and the travel fee already counted in it.
Do you come out to Netley Creek Provincial Park and PR 320?
Yes. PR 320, Breezy Point Road out of Selkirk, ends at the boat ramp at the mouth of Netley Creek, and the stretch past Clandeboye Road is gravel, so tell me whether the vehicle is at the ramp or somewhere along the road. If the only key went into the creek or the marsh, a new one can be made from scratch at the vehicle — that is the all-keys-lost job, from $200, with the travel fee inside the price you hear first.
What can you do on-site in Petersfield?
New keys when every key is gone, spares, lockouts, fobs and chip keys, cut and programmed where the car sits — a creekside driveway, the curling club on Main Street or a yard out toward the marsh. Most makes and models, older cars included.
How much does it cost in Petersfield?
A lockout in Petersfield starts from $150, a spare, chip key or fob from $160, a smart / push-to-start key from $170 and all keys lost from $200, taxes included. The travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to Petersfield; it is part of the all-in price I give you before I set out, so nothing is added when I pull up by the creek, and you pay only once the key works or the car is open. Some makes cost more (full price list).
