Mobile auto locksmith in Winnipeg Beach

A fob that dies at a campsite, keys locked in the car near the boardwalk, the only key lost somewhere between Main Street and the marina — in Winnipeg Beach I sort it out at the vehicle, and the drive from the city is priced in before I leave.

Winnipeg Beach is a town on the south-western shore of Lake Winnipeg, about 65 km north of the Winnipeg city limit by road, at the junction of Highway 9 and Provincial Road 229. Highway 9 goes straight through the middle of downtown here on its way up the coast to Sandy Hook and Gimli. PR 229 is the road in from Highway 8 on the west side; it ends at Highway 9 on the north side of town, and the road carries on as Park Avenue toward Boundary Creek Marina and Winnipeg Beach Provincial Park.

The town began in 1900 as a Canadian Pacific Railway summer resort, and the 40-metre steel water tower the railway built at Stephenson’s Point in 1928 still stands.

Most summer visitors are headed for Winnipeg Beach Provincial Park: three kilometres of sand with Main Beach and South Beach, a restored boardwalk, an outdoor stage, a marina, tennis courts and a breakwater, and a campground with 120 full-service sites.

The town calendar follows the lake: Boardwalk Days in mid-July, outdoor markets on Main Street from June to late August, the Under the Boardwalk Show N Shine downtown in September, and the Wonderful Winter Weekend in February around the Community Centre, the breakwater and Boardwalk Station. On a festival weekend, give me the street or lot where the car actually is, not just “at the beach”.

I cover Winnipeg Beach, on the west shore of Lake Winnipeg. It is outside Winnipeg, so the travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to Winnipeg Beach, and it goes into the price — you hear the full, all-in amount before I set off, and it does not grow once I arrive.

What I do on-site

  • On-site anywhere in Winnipeg Beach — curbside on Main Street, a site in the provincial park campground, day-use parking in the park, Boundary Creek Marina, or a driveway anywhere in town. No towing to Gimli, Selkirk or the city.
  • Lost keys, spares, lockouts, fobs and chip keys — made and programmed at the vehicle, whether that is a camper’s truck at the campground or a car parked near the water tower. Most makes and models, older cars included.
  • One price, set before I drive up — car lockout from $150, spare, chip key or fob from $160, smart / push-to-start from $170, all keys lost from $200, taxes included. Winnipeg Beach is outside Winnipeg, so the travel fee is folded into that figure; there is no call-out fee, and you pay once the key works or the door is open.
  • Half price on a second key — same car, same visit, 1-year warranty on the work. A spare kept at the cabin or at home means a key lost in the sand does not end the weekend.
  • Open 8 AM to 9 PM, 7 days — holidays included, Boardwalk Days and the winter weekend too. Call, text or WhatsApp +1 (204) 406-1801.

Google review

“I lost one of my car keys and only had one left, so I was really stressed. Andrew handled everything perfectly - he cut and programmed a new key for my Honda Civic in just about 10-15 minutes.”

Frequently asked questions

Do you come to Winnipeg Beach?
Yes. The work is done where the car is — on Main Street, in the provincial park campground or its day-use parking, at Boundary Creek Marina, or on a driveway anywhere in town — with no tow to a shop. Winnipeg Beach is outside Winnipeg, so a travel fee for the distance is part of the price, and the exact all-in amount is what you hear before I set out. Tell me the year, make and model, and once you know the price we agree a day and time that suit you.
When can you reach Winnipeg Beach?
Every day from 8 AM to 9 PM, holidays included. The town is up Highway 9, where it meets PR 229, so an honest time depends on that drive and on what is already on the schedule that day. Message or call +1 (204) 406-1801 and you get a straight answer on timing along with the all-in price, travel included.
Do you cover Dunnottar, Whytewold and Matlock?
Yes. South of town along Highway 9 is the Village of Dunnottar, with its three communities, Ponemah, Whytewold and Matlock; Matlock is also where PR 232 meets the highway. All of these are outside Winnipeg, so the travel fee depends on exactly where the car is, and it sits inside the all-in price I give you first.
What can you do on-site in Winnipeg Beach?
The same work I do in the city, done at the car: keys cut and programmed, lost keys replaced from scratch, fobs and chip keys set up, locked cars opened — at a campsite, the marina or a Main Street curb. Most makes and models, older cars included.
How much does it cost in Winnipeg Beach?
From $150 for a lockout, $160 for a spare, chip key or fob, $170 for a smart / push-to-start key and $200 when all keys are lost, taxes included, whether the car is at the campground or on Main Street. The travel fee is $2 per km from the Winnipeg city limit to Winnipeg Beach; it is part of the all-in price I give you before I set out, and you pay only once the key works or the car is open. Some makes cost more, and the pricing page lists the rest.
